- Staff Transport: Daily From Uyo and From Port Harcourt
Project commissioning is the process of assuring that all systems and components of the ship are designed, installed, tested, operated, and maintained according to the operational requirements of the owner or final client. It is the integrated application of a set of engineering techniques and procedures to check, inspect and test every operational component of the project: from individual functions (such as instruments and equipment) up to complex amalgamations (such as modules, subsystems and systems).

REPORTING TO | Commissioning Manager / Mechanical Manager |
TASK AND RESPONSIBLITIES | To plan, organize and supervise all the testing and commissioning requirements of a project. |
Ensure that all safety procedures and regulations are complied with, as defined in the safety and health manual and ensure good housekeeping standards are maintain always at site. | |
Ensure that all standard operating procedures comply with specifications, quality standards, statutory and regulatory requirements. | |
Promote safe working procedures to prevent incidents - Prepare and carry out risk analysis (RA) and JHA job hazard analysis for the work. | |
Decide in consultation with the Project Manager / Commissioning Manager/ yard manager on the manpower requirements. | |
Proficient with the testing procedures and applicable rules and regulations of regulatory bodies. | |
Identify system/ sub system boundaries and work out the Inspection check sheets accordingly. | |
Prepare commissioning procedure as per requirement of specifications and should be familiar with commissioning procedures and manuals. | |
Take necessary precautions to ensure the work site is safe for testing / commissioning. | |
Co-ordinate the works in VSCC and raise requirement permit and carry out LOTO for the work (Lock Out and Tag Out). | |
Inspect the equipment and prepare preservation requirement and also arrange for protection, preservation maintenance of equipment and system. | |
REQUIREMENT - EXPERIENCE | Minimum 3 years of relevant Commissioning experience in Oil & Gas / Marine / Offshore industry or 3 years sailing experience as a Second Engineer or Chief Engineer |
Able to establish quality standards by understanding Class requirements, Customer requirements and internal Shipyard workmanship standards. | |
Able to ensure ISO 9000 quality management system is maintained throughout company including internal audit program | |
REQUIREMENT – EDUCATION AND KEY CERTIFICATES | Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Naval Architecture / Marine Engineering / Mechanical / Electrical / Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer) Class 1 and 2 (Motorship), or its equivalent. |
