How to Transfer Bitcoin from Coinbase to Electrum Wallet

In this article, we will guide you through the process of transferring Bitcoin from Coinbase to Electrum Wallet.
Before you start, make sure you have both Coinbase and Electrum wallets installed on your device. Coinbase is a popular cryptocurrency exchange platform, while Electrum is a lightweight Bitcoin wallet that allows you to manage your Bitcoin securely.
Step 1: Log in to your Coinbase account
Open your web browser and visit the Coinbase website. Enter your email address and password to log in to your account. Once logged in, navigate to the "Accounts" section and select the Bitcoin account you want to transfer from.
Step 2: Generate a Bitcoin address
In the "Accounts" section, you will find a "Receive" tab. Click on it to generate a Bitcoin address. This address is unique to your Coinbase account and will be used to receive Bitcoin. Copy the address, as you will need it later in the transfer process.
Step 3: Open your Electrum wallet
Launch the Electrum wallet on your device. If you haven't already created a wallet, you can do so by clicking on "Create a new wallet" and following the on-screen instructions. Once your wallet is open, you will see a list of Bitcoin addresses. Click on the "Receive" tab to generate a new receiving address.
Step 4: Send Bitcoin from Coinbase to Electrum
Now that you have both the Bitcoin address from Coinbase and the receiving address from Electrum, it's time to transfer the Bitcoin. Go back to your Coinbase account and navigate to the "Send/Receive" section. Enter the amount of Bitcoin you want to transfer and paste the Electrum receiving address in the "To" field.
Before sending the Bitcoin, double-check the address to ensure it is correct. Once you are confident that the address is accurate, click on "Send" to initiate the transfer. Coinbase will ask you to confirm the transaction. Enter your two-factor authentication code if required and click "Confirm."
Step 5: Wait for the transaction to be confirmed
After confirming the transaction, Coinbase will send the Bitcoin to the Electrum wallet. The transaction may take a few minutes to be confirmed, depending on the network congestion. You can monitor the transaction status by checking the blockchain explorer or the Electrum wallet.
Step 6: Verify the transfer
Once the transaction is confirmed, you can verify the transfer by checking the Bitcoin balance in your Electrum wallet. Navigate to the "Send/Receive" tab and click on "History." You should see the transaction details, including the amount sent and the receiving address.
Congratulations! You have successfully transferred Bitcoin from Coinbase to Electrum wallet. Remember to keep your Electrum wallet secure by using a strong password and enabling two-factor authentication. Additionally, always double-check the Bitcoin address before sending any funds to avoid losing your Bitcoin.
