- Staff Transport: Daily From Uyo and From Port Harcourt
Health, safety and environment (HSE) refers to a branch, or department, within a company that is responsible for the observance and protection of occupational health and safety rules and regulations along with environmental protection. HSE Officers are generally responsible for two objectives: prevention of all incidents and accidents that can result from abnormal operating conditions and reduction of adverse effects that may result from normal operating conditions

TASK AND RESPONSIBLITIES | Assist the Project Manager on matters relating to compliance with HSE requirements. |
Assist the Project Manager in the implementation of the site Health, Safety and Environmental Management Plan for the assign project. | |
Ensure a safe and healthy working environment for the vessels under his charge. | |
Ensure safe work practices are carried out in all operations and suspend work where conditions or practices are unsafe. | |
Enforce all in-house HSE rules and regulations. | |
Assist HSE Manager in investigating accidents or near misses and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrences. | |
Keep proper accident records and statistics for vessels under his charges. | |
Conduct regular safety inspections of the shipyard premises and on vessel for the purpose of identifying unsafe work practices and improving working conditions as well as to close the findings observed. | |
Conduct inspection of hot-work locations and endorse the permit-to-work for hot-work and other hazardous operations. | |
Inspect hot-work locations and yard to ensure compliance with yard regulations and government legislations. | |
Act as secretary for the daily Vessel Safety Coordination Committee (VSCC) meeting and record meeting minutes. | |
Enforce the implementation of Risk Management in the daily activities in the yard. | |
Check, evaluate and ensure that a relevant Risk Assessment has been conducted for activities to be carried out in the yard. | |
REQUIREMENT - EXPERIENCE | Minimum 3 years of relevant HSE experience in Oil & Gas / Marine / Offshore industry. |
Able to establish quality standards by understanding Class requirements, Customer requirements and internal Shipyard workmanship standards. | |
Able to ensure ISO 9000 quality management system is maintained throughout company including internal audit program | |
REQUIREMENT – EDUCATION AND KEY CERTIFICATES | Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering or Civil Engineering or any other relevant disciplines |
Must possess mandatory HSE training Certifications |
