- Staff Transport: Daily From Uyo and From Port Harcourt
Naval architecture is an engineering discipline, incorporating elements of mechanical, electrical, electronic, software and safety engineering as applied to the engineering design process, shipbuilding, maintenance, and operation of marine vessels and structures. Naval architecture involves basic and applied research, design, development, design evaluation (classification) and calculations during all stages of the life of a marine vehicle. Preliminary design of the vessel, its detailed design, construction, trials, operation and maintenance, launching and dry-docking are the main activities involved.

TASK AND RESPONSIBLITIES | Carry out ship Design to fulfill project requirements. |
To perform naval architecture activities such as Scantling calculations, Powering calculations, Stability calculations and Launching arrangement/ calculations, inclining test experiment etc. | |
Ensuring designs adhere to Class Rules, Regulatory Framework. | |
To deal with owners and class surveyors to solve basic design, engineering and production issues. | |
Provides technical support to Commercial and production Departments for enquiries and ongoing projects. | |
Providing engineering consultation and developing feasibility studies. | |
Conducting intact and damaged stability analysis, deadweight surveys. | |
Designing marine engineering systems. | |
Conducting structural assessments using first principles methods and finite element analysis. | |
Conducting rule analyses using classification society standards and/or Flag State regulations. | |
Utilizing HECSALV, AutoCAD, Rhino, Solidworks and FEA software, etc. | |
Prepares the calculation of light ship’s weight distribution, weight & CoG (Center of Gravity) estimation and radius of gyrations. | |
Performs scantling analysis, develops and reviews of the drawings, strength analysis, fatigue analysis and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for local structures. | |
REQUIREMENT - EXPERIENCE | Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas / Marine / Offshore industry. |
Able to establish quality standards by understanding Class requirements, Customer requirements and internal Shipyard workmanship standards. | |
Able to ensure ISO 9000 quality management system is maintained throughout company including internal audit program. | |
Knowledge of functional and operational requirements related to design of all types of mobile offshore unit, ships and offshore vessels | |
Possess good communication and interpersonal skills. | |
Possess supervisory skills to coach and motivate staff. | |

REQUIREMENT – EDUCATION AND KEY CERTIFICATES | Master’s Degree or Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture or any other relevant disciplines |
