- Work Location: Norfin Offshore Shipyard, Ikot Ukpong, Oruk Anam, Akwa Ibom State
- Staff Transport: Daily From Uyo and From Port Harcourt
Project management is the practice of initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing the work of a team to achieve specific goals and meet specific success criteria at the specified time. Project managers have the responsibility of the planning, procurement and execution of a project, in any undertaking that has a defined scope, defined start and a defined finish.

TASK AND RESPONSIBLITIES | Responsible for the daily management of the Project team, including target settings, mid-year review and yearly appraisals. |
Responsible for the planning, budget and quality of multidisciplinary projects that are being built. | |
Execute the performance cycle with the team members (target setting, mid-year review, and yearly appraisal). | |
Managing the contract with support from contract management and production team. | |
Preparation of the construction process and drawing up the project plans in collaboration with the Project Management Office and Planning. Monitoring of planning deadlines, progress, quality, and budget using an ERP system, WBS, and process planning schedules. | |
Coordinating and supervising the operations process. | |
Coordination of the commissioning, sea trials, and delivery of ships to the customers in consultation with the classification society and our co-makers and suppliers. | |
Improving processes and products at design and detail level in relation to the various sub-processes, such as the engineering, construction, and procurement processes, and a reduction of failure costs and an improvement in quality. | |
Coordinating/indirectly supervising the project team along the entire production chain and supply chain. | |
Supporting / guiding and leading the (assistant) project managers, there competences and within complex projects. | |
REQUIREMENT - EXPERIENCE | Over 5 years of relevant work experience within multidisciplinary project management. |
Knowledge and experience of ERP, multidisciplinary projects, WBS, and planning schedules is an advantage. | |
Ability to set priorities, take a process-centered approach, and maintain an overview. | |
Able to establish quality standards by understanding Class requirements, Customer requirements and internal Shipyard workmanship standards. | |
Able to ensure ISO 9000 quality management system is maintained throughout company including internal audit program | |
REQUIREMENT – EDUCATION AND KEY CERTIFICATES | Master’s Degree or Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture or any other relevant disciplines |
