- Staff Transport: Daily From Uyo and From Port Harcourt
Quality assurance (QA) is a way of preventing mistakes and defects in Ship Building, ship repairs and Offshore Engineering and avoiding problems when delivering products or services to customers; which ISO 9000 defines as “part of quality management focused on providing confidence that quality requirements will be fulfilled”.

TASK AND RESPONSIBLITIES | Monitoring the Subcontractors’ work activities for compliance with quality requirements. |
Must Possess knowledge of and implementing of; welding methodology plan, Project specified WPS, Inspection and Test Plan and Hydro Test Plan. | |
Monitoring the welder performance and ensuring that the welding parameters are as per approved procedure and that the welding machines / instruments are calibrated. | |
Ensure that the raw materials verification / mechanical equipment’s verification are in compliance with specified requirement and specification. | |
Checking of welding consumables such as electrodes, filler wire, fluxes and shielding gases are met the requirements. | |
Perform fit-up, visual and dimensional inspection and monitor all stages of welding on hull and ballast tank and fresh water tank and cargo tank and modules. | |
Carry out tank inspections such as Anode, Vacuum test, Air test and close out. | |
Once satisfied with requirements, call clients and classification inspectors for inspection on every stage. | |
Ensuring the Quality of Construction by means of Daily Surveillance. | |
Witnessing the civil, scaffolding, fit up, preheats, inter pass temperature, weld visual, RT, UT, MT & coating activities. | |
Requesting and witnessing NDT activities. If repair occurred, re-weld and re-inspect with approved procedure. | |
REQUIREMENT - EXPERIENCE | Minimum 3 years of relevant QA/QC experience in Oil & Gas / Marine / Offshore industry. |
Able to establish quality standards by understanding Class requirements, Customer requirements and internal Shipyard workmanship standards. | |
Able to ensure ISO 9000 quality management system is maintained throughout company including internal audit program | |
REQUIREMENT – EDUCATION AND KEY CERTIFICATES | Master’s Degree or Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture or any other relevant disciplines |
